The opportunity
The firm is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to provide full-time secretarial and administrative support to the partners and wider team. This is a busy and varied role that requires exceptional organisation, attention to detail, and strong time‑management skills.
This position would be ideal for someone who brings a high level of professionalism, is comfortable working within established legal processes, and can proactively support the team in maintaining efficient workflows. It is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills within a reputable legal practice.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Opening, maintaining, and closing files
- Maintaining physical and digital filing systems
- Drafting and preparing legal documents
- Liaising with courts
- Screening potential clients and allocating to the author
- Communicating with clients about updates on case progress
- Obtaining client due diligence material and AML compliance
- Electronic diary management and arrangement of meetings for team authors
- Monthly billing, preparation of invoices and statements, and team debt collection
- General administrative support to team authors
About you
- Minimum 2 years' experience in legal administration, ideally in family law
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work autonomously
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills
- Able to handle sensitive information with absolute confidentiality
- Accurate and efficient typing skills
- Prior experience with iManage and Aderant is an advantage
