McVeagh Fleming is a large full-service firm that has been operating in Auckland for over 100 years and has offices in Auckland CBD, Albany and Manukau.  The position being offered is in the City office, but providing support to our Manukau office as well.

The opportunity

We are looking for someone who has experience in general civil litigation with 3 to 5 years' PQE.

This role offers:

  • The opportunity to work on a wide gamut of civil litigation matters, including but not limited to contractual disputes, property, construction, defamation and negligence actions
  • Engagement from the early stages of disputes and frequent opportunities to appear in Court
  • Regular and direct client contact
  • A collaborative team environment and quality supervision and mentoring from senior team members
  •  A diverse mix of advisory and litigation work with regular opportunities for appearances at mediation and other forms of ADR
  • Mentoring and leadership opportunities with more junior team members

About you

  • 3 to 5 years' PQE in general litigation (current experience) 
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • The ability to prioritise, keen administrative and organisational skills
  • Demonstrable commitment to teamwork and leadership potential
  • Some general District and High Court experience is required
  • Confident and motivated
  • A willingness to actively engage in marketing and business development opportunities
