About the role
We’re looking for an AML Analyst to play a key role in supporting the administration of our AML/CFT Compliance Programme and Risk Assessment. This is a fixed-term role lasting 6 months, reporting directly to the AML Compliance Officer, and helping ensure the firm meets its regulatory obligations effectively and with integrity.
This is a dynamic role that calls for professionalism, a proactive mindset, and strong collaboration skills. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business to monitor, review, and maintain compliance processes, while contributing to risk assessments and ongoing monitoring.

About the responsibilities
• Assisting with ensuring the Firm is compliant with AML/CFT legislation and guidance released by the Department of Internal Affairs.
• Conducting client due diligence in accordance with the Firm’s AML/CFT Compliance Programme.
• Reviewing client due diligence documentation and risk assessments.
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to obtain information to complete client due diligence.
• Supporting investigations into Red Flags.
• Supporting the review of processes and risks, and contributing to recommendations for improving compliance systems and procedures.
• Working collaboratively with partners, staff, and agents to promote awareness of statutory obligations, including assisting with training and guidance.
• Maintaining AML/CFT registers - Training, PEP, Exception, and Red Flag registers.
• Assisting with the preparation of IFT/PTR reports to the FIU.
• Assisting with ad-hoc duties, general administration, projects, and marketing as required.
About you and what you'll bring
• 1-2 years of previous experience in a similar role in banking or the legal industry in New Zealand.
• A fast learner who can rapidly absorb information and apply it effectively.
• Be able to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• A strong confidence and ability to communicate key information and status to stakeholders.
• A strong analytical ability, with the capacity to apply sound judgment in determining client risk ratings.
• Confident and resilient when faced with pressure or challenge.
• Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
